The Fall/Winter 1996–97 womenswear collection develops around six distinct themes, each exploring a different aspect of elegance and contemporary style.
The first theme, "sophisticated greige," focuses on refined sportswear played out in shades of gray and beige, featuring a sober elegance that defines garments intended for everyday wear.
The second, "blue period," presents strict navy blue suits and ensembles with clean lines and shapes evoking classic restraint, while maintaining a strong contemporary relevance.
The "black glamour" section stands out for introducing double-breasted jackets embellished with jeweled pins and short skirts, bringing a touch of luxury and boldness to the traditional black palette.
The fourth theme, "gorgeous," employs vivid and bright colors that revitalize the sleek, linear forms, creating a contrast between chromatic energy and minimalist silhouettes.
"Femme-femme" includes kimono jackets, silk trousers, and long, flowing skirts, evoking 1920s writers through black-based prints, cream velvet, and matelassé velvet.
These pieces, enriched by layered ties and necklaces, blend delicacy and refinement, immersing themselves in a timeless atmosphere.
Finally, the "tenue de soirée" section summarizes the previous themes, giving rise to an opulent and dreamlike reinterpretation.
The garments, while maintaining clarity and precision, are adorned with embroidery and detailing that elevate them to the realm of "dream."
The runway show takes place in a theatrical setting, marked by projections of evocative images and text on the backdrop, accompanied by lighting changes that create a continuous visual and atmospheric evolution.
